What parents need to know
- This is a pre-release guide based on Netflix's announcements and the C.S. Lewis novel; we will publish a content breakdown after release.
- Release plan: IMAX and wide theatrical release on February 12, 2027 (IMAX-only previews February 10), then Netflix on April 2, 2027, after an earlier plan for late 2026 was changed.
- No MPA rating has been announced; one producer has said he expects PG, which is an expectation and not an official rating.
- In the novel, Jadis destroyed every living creature in her world with one spoken word, and she later runs wild in London; we do not yet know how the film handles those scenes.
- Digory's mother is gravely ill in the novel, and the film casts Carey Mulligan as his mother, so expect themes of illness, fear of loss and grief.
- Digory's uncle Andrew is a manipulative figure in the book who experiments on animals and tricks children.
- C.S. Lewis wrote the series with Christian themes, and Aslan's creation of Narnia echoes the Genesis story, which some families will want to discuss.
- Greta Gerwig has described Narnia as a world made out of music, according to reporting on Empire's first look.

What's the story?
Based on C.S. Lewis's 1955 novel, the first Narnia story in chronological order, the film follows two London children, Digory and Polly, who are thrown into other worlds by the magic experiments of Digory's uncle Andrew. Their journey leads to the witch Jadis, who will become Narnia's White Witch, and to the creation of Narnia itself. David McKenna and Beatrice Campbell play the children, with Emma Mackey as Jadis, Daniel Craig as Andrew Ketterley and Meryl Streep voicing Aslan.
