Help & FAQ
The answers most parents come looking for. Can't find yours? Email us.
What is FamScoop?
A privacy-first community where American parents talk honestly about raising kids and discover real-parent reviews of movies, TV, games, and apps. The community is the product — reviews are the entry point.
Why do new accounts need to be approved?
A small approval queue is how we keep the community safe in the early days. Most signups are approved within a few hours. Until then, you can browse everything — posting and replying open up once an admin approves you.
What are the identity modes when I post?
Public shows your display name + @username. Pseudonymous (the default) shows just @username — your real name stays private. Anonymous shows "Anonymous parent" with no link back to your profile. Note: our backend always logs who actually posted so we can act on abuse.
How many anonymous posts can I make?
Three per 24 hours for free accounts. Confessions are always anonymous and count toward this limit.
How does the For You feed work?
It weighs the connections you have with other parents (30%), the groups you've joined (20%), interests you picked (15%), how fresh a post is (15%), how much it's being talked about (10%), and whether your kids are around the same age (10%).
How do I block or mute someone?
Open their profile, tap the menu (•••) in the top right, and choose Block. Blocked users can't see your posts, can't comment on your threads, and can't message you. Manage your block list in More → Account → Blocked users.
How do I report a post or comment?
The report button appears on every post and comment for signed-in users. Reports go to the human moderation queue — five reports auto-hide the content while we look at it.
How do I delete my account?
Email admin@famscoop.com from the address on your account. We'll confirm and delete within 7 days. Anonymous and pseudonymous posts you've made stay as "Deleted parent" so the conversation around them keeps making sense.
Why don't I see image uploads on posts yet?
We're launching text-first to focus on real conversation. Image posts open up as the community grows.
Who runs FamScoop?
A small team of parents in the United States. Admins are listed on the About page.
