Shrek 5 Watch with kid

Youngest OK: 7+
Best ages: 7–12
Parent reviews: 0

Shrek 5 is now scheduled for June 30, 2027, after Universal moved it from December 2026. Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz return, with Zendaya joining the family. No MPA rating or official synopsis has been announced.

Bottom line: Too early for a firm verdict: no rating or synopsis has been announced. Based on the PG-rated earlier films, our provisional call is ages 7 and up for the crude humor, and we will update after the rating is announced and the film opens.

Wildwood Watch with kid

Youngest OK: 12+
Best ages: 12–17
Parent reviews: 0

LAIKA's first PG-13 film is a dark, long stop-motion fantasy about a girl who enters a magical forest to rescue her baby brother from crows. The rating includes bloody fantasy violence and suicide-related material, so it is not a typical LAIKA family pick.

Bottom line: LAIKA's first PG-13 film is dark fantasy, not a typical family pick, and its rating includes suicide-related material. Provisionally for ages 12 and up; wait for our post-release breakdown before taking younger kids.
